Dr. Preston and Dr. Kathryn Butler are relationship, leadership, and communication experts with over 60 years of combined global experience. Certified counselors with a passion for helping others go to the next level, they have worked extensively throughout the USA, Central America, Asia, and the Middle East. Leading by example, Preston and Kathryn have dedicated their lives to the empowerment and education of individual development as it connects to the family structure and society at large. They are best-selling authors, accomplished public speakers, and after having moved 15 times, have extensive experience working with diverse groups, backgrounds, and beliefs.
Dr. Butler is a certified Christian counselor, adjunct business professor, 22-year retired Army Veteran, and public speaker. His passion is to help others go to the next level in various aspects of their lives. He is the author of “It’s OK to Have an Affair (with your spouse).”
Preston Butler is a native of Lawton, OK, and was born and raised in the “Grand Ole” Church of God in Christ. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Master of Business Administration, and culminated his formal education with a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership and a Doctor of Christian Counseling.
Dr. Butler achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army and served honorably for twenty-two years. While stationed in Louisville, KY, he received his minister’s license in April 1999 and was ordained three months later by his Pastor, the late Bishop A.T. Moore. Prior to being called to ministry, he served faithfully as a deacon for 10 years. He has always had a passion for studying and teaching the Word of God, and has served in several positions such as: Pastor, Assistant Pastor, Church Administrative Assistant, Evangelism President, Brotherhood President, Assistant Dean for the School of Ministry at his local church, Sunday School teacher, church organist, and Marriage Enrichment Co-Chair.
Dr. Butler lectures and teaches on a myriad of topics to include Ecclesiastical Leadership, The Art of Leadership, 5 Levels of Leadership by John Maxwell, Emotional Intelligence, Government contracting, Business Ethics, and The 5 Love Languages by Dr. Gary Chapman.
He and his wife Kathryn founded PK3 Ministries, Inc. in 2006 with the expressed intent to help married couples enjoy the gift of marriage. In 2007, he wrote and published a book called, “It’s OK to Have an Affair (with your spouse).”
Dr. Butler recently returned to California after working six years in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Procurement & Subcontracts Director, and now serves as the United States Government Director of Procurement for Meggitt International. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at California Miramar University in San Diego, is a member of the Board of Directors for the Southern California, 1st Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, and has been a member of the COGIC General Assembly Manual Review/Revision Committee since 2012.
Dr. Butler has been a faithful and active member of the Friendly COGIC in Oceanside, CA for over 18 years where he serves as the 2nd Administrative Assistant and Evangelism President. Most importantly, Dr. Butler has been happily married to the former Kathryn Lawson for 40 years. Together, they raised three beautiful and amazing children who are all saved. To God be the glory! Two of the three children are married. He has one grandson and one granddaughter who affectionately call him “pop pop.”
Despite a life full of achievements, he says nothing compares to the day he was born again in December 1978. He is saved, sanctified, and Holy Ghost filled. The joy of the Lord is his strength.
Dr. Butler is a certified Christian counselor, career coach, and communication expert. Her passion to empower others to live their best life is evident in the success of those whom she coaches & counsels at every level. Kathryn published her first book, Triumphant in the Trenches, in 2020 and is a bestselling author.
Kathryn A. Butler has spent her entire life helping people of all races, creeds, and colors. Her love for humanity has been felt nationally and internationally. Kathryn earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and started her career as a News Reporter for a local ABC affiliate television station in 1985. She recently completed graduate and formal studies in Christian Counseling.
Kathryn is a certified Christian counselor, certified Master Trainer Instructor, Certified Career Coach, Certified Workforce Development Professional, Certified Interview Professional, and has been a noted Public Speaker for over 30 years. While serving as a Family Readiness Advisor for the Marine Corps Community Services, Kathryn was certified in Personality Assessments such as DISC, Four Lenses Temperament Discovery, and The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families. She retired from the government as a Certified Career and Professional Development Coach and has continued to support the Military Spouse population as a keynote speaker for the annual Military Spouse Symposium at Camp Pendleton, CA.
Kathryn is the author of “Triumphant in the Trenches – Victory Despite Challenges (Memories of a Military Spouse).” This book is a tribute and testimonial to the struggles, yet wonderful life the military can provide. While stationed in the Republic of South Korea with her husband, Kathryn served within the Military Community as the Co-Spiritual Life Coordinator for the Protestant Women of the Chapel. Because of her selfless efforts, Kathryn was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Eighth U.S. Army.
As a licensed Evangelist, Kathryn has been in ministry for over 30 years serving in a variety of leadership capacities such as Youth and Adult Choir Director, Youth Ministry Director, Women’s Department Chairperson, State Evangelism Member, and Marriage Enrichment Co-Chair.
Kathryn has been a keynote speaker for women’s workshops and various conferences throughout the United States, South Korea, Republic of Panama, Europe, and Saudi Arabia. Her passion is to empower others to live their best life is evident in the success of those whom she coaches and counsels at every level.
